Three subjects across five option blocks, and an EPQ
Students study three subjects, chosen from A Levels, BTECs and CTECs across five option blocks, A to E, alongside the Extended Project Qualification. Valued by universities as half of a full A Level, the EPQ encourages students to focus on one of the 17 UNESCO Sustainability Goals, and it builds the independent research, critical thinking and academic writing that competitive applications reward.
Through Kingsley Online, a collaboration with Greene’s College in Oxford, a student can take one of their three subjects online, choosing from up to 44 further A Level courses including Law, Politics, Mandarin and Geology. A student whose ambition points in an unusual direction can follow it.
Results that show what happens when students are supported and known
In 2026, 98.6% of A Level grades were A* to E, above the national figure of 97.5%, and vocational students averaged a Distinction. The ISI found that pupils develop high levels of self-confidence and self-knowledge due to excellent support from dedicated staff, which is the foundation these results are built on.

Specialist advisers, and the Top Universities Programme
Specialist advisers guide every student through course selection, university choices and personal statements. The Lower Sixth begin with a full UCAS induction, attend the Exeter University Fair and go on university visits, so no one navigates the process alone.
For students aiming high, the Top Universities Programme, run with Greene’s College in Oxford, supports applications to Russell Group universities including Oxford and Cambridge, and to competitive courses such as medicine, veterinary science, law and engineering.

The pathways run alongside academic study and strengthen it
The Expansive Curriculum lets Sixth Form students keep up their passions in sport, performing arts, outdoor education, academic curiosity, service and volunteering, whether they arrive as elite performers or curious beginners. Students also take on real responsibility as Heads and Deputy Heads of School, Heads of Houses, Heads of Boarding, and Subject and Society Ambassadors.

Wellbeing sits at the centre of everything at Kingsley. Every student has a personal tutor, and pastoral care is proactive, reaching students before small worries become large ones. Boarders are supported by Heads of Boarding and a settled house community, which makes Kingsley a considered choice for families looking at a boarding sixth form.
The well-appointed Sixth Form Centre gives students their own space for private study and time together, with the central Library close by. Across the campus they use a theatre, arts studios and sports facilities that include the only World Rugby and FIFA-approved all-weather pitch in North Devon, all within the UNESCO Biosphere of North Devon.

When do you apply for sixth form?
Most families start at the Sixth Form open evening on Thursday 15 October 2026, for Year 11 pupils whether they are joining Kingsley for the first time or continuing here. You can also book a visit at any time to meet the team and talk through timing for your child. Scholarship applications for September 2027 entry have an early deadline of 31 October 2026.
What A Levels can I study?
