What you will study
You can pair Fine Art with A-Level Photography, and the Expansive Curriculum gives further scope to exhibit and develop your work.
- Year 12 is a Personal Investigation. You choose your own theme, research primary sources and produce a sustained practical investigation supported by a Related Study.
- Year 13 is an Externally Set Assignment, working towards a theme released in early February.
How it is assessed
Both components are internally assessed and externally moderated. The Year 13 Externally Set Assignment concludes with a 15-hour timed practical assessment.
Where it leads
Art opens routes to degrees and careers in fine art, illustration, graphic design, fashion, architecture and the wider creative industries. Students considering Architecture are advised to take Maths and/or Physics alongside.
