Advanced Pathways: where a child finds a passion

Alongside academic lessons, every pupil follows Advanced Pathways, the five specialist pathways of Kingsley’s Expansive Curriculum. They are timetabled into the school week, and each one leads somewhere real.

How pathways work

Dedicated sessions, and progression year on year

Advanced Pathways sit at the heart of Kingsley’s Expansive Curriculum, which complements the Core Curriculum to give every pupil a well-rounded education. The pathways run in longer afternoon sessions, so every pupil takes part and progresses through them year on year. They are built around the school’s five core values, Appreciate, Be active, Connect, Give and Learn, with a focus on positive mental health and wellbeing that leads to success and happiness.

What are Advanced Pathways?

They are the five specialist pathways of Kingsley’s Expansive Curriculum: Sports, Performing Arts, STEM, Outdoor Education and Earth Centre. Every pupil follows them alongside academic lessons.

Are they for every pupil or just specialists?

Every pupil takes part. Whatever a pupil’s starting point, they join in and progress at a level that suits them, and specialists can go as far as the performance and award routes allow.
