Music (BTEC Level 3)

You complete a set of mandatory units and choose optional units from the Music Performance list, developing your craft across the two years. Work is based in the Music Centre, with:

• a suite of MacBooks running Logic Pro X and GarageBand
• keyboards, guitars, bass and percussion
• space to rehearse, perform and produce

Assessment is portfolio-based. You build a body of performance and production work across the mandatory and optional units rather than sitting a final examination.

The course opens routes to BA degrees in Music, Music Business and Music for Media, and to careers across performance, production and the wider music industry. It sits alongside two further Level 3 courses and the EPQ, and ambitious applicants can draw on the Top Universities Programme.
