- Hispanic society and multiculturalism
- artistic culture and political life
- one set film and one set novel
- an independent research project

How it is assessed
Assessment has three parts:
- listening, reading and writing (50%)
- critical essays on the set literature and film (20%)
- speaking, including a research presentation (30%)

Where it leads
Spanish opens degrees and careers in modern languages, international business, law, translation, diplomacy and travel, with strong support for study abroad.
