Financial assistance towards fees, awarded on the basis of need
Bursaries are means-tested, so the level of support reflects each family’s individual circumstances rather than any fixed formula. This is part of a wider commitment to social mobility and to offering local families real options to join the Kingsley Family.
Bursaries are open to prospective families applying for a place and, in certain circumstances, to current families whose situation has changed. Many parents make significant sacrifices to give their child this start, and if a Kingsley education feels beyond reach, this page explains the help available.
Handled with discretion, and treated in confidence
Need is assessed by an independent bursary assessor, who reviews a confidential statement of your financial affairs covering income, outgoings and family circumstances. An offer of support may then be made on the basis of that assessment.
Using an independent assessor keeps the process fair, consistent and separate from the admissions decision.

Three steps to a means-tested bursary
- 1
Complete the Bursary Registration Form. Tell us about your family and the place you are applying for.
- 2
Pay the registration fee. There is an annual, non-refundable registration fee of £75 for the independent assessment service.
- 3
Meet the independent assessor. The assessor will guide you through the confidential statement of financial affairs. Once the assessment is complete, the school will be in touch to discuss what support may be available.
Holding both can make a place more affordable
Scholarships recognise a pupil’s talent or promise, while bursaries respond to financial need, and holding both increases the overall level of support a family receives. If your child may be a candidate for an award, our team can talk you through how the two work together.
If your circumstances change
A family already at Kingsley may face a temporary or longer-term financial difficulty. Where this happens, the school will do its best to work with parents to keep a child settled and in school. The most important step is to talk to us early. With enough notice, we can explore the options open to your family calmly and in confidence.

Register for a bursary assessment
Registering here is the first step. Bursaries are means tested, and the assessment is carried out for us by an independent service, so once we have your details the admissions team will explain what happens next and what information you will be asked to provide.
