GCSE Creative iMedia (Cambridge National)

Cambridge National iMedia at Kingsley is the OCR Cambridge National (Level 1/2) in Creative iMedia, a GCSE-equivalent course taught in Years 10 and 11. It suits pupils who enjoy digital design and want to create media for real client briefs.

The course covers three areas:

  • media industry knowledge: sectors, job roles, audiences, legal issues and pre-production
  • visual identity and graphics created for client briefs
  • a specialist elective, such as animation, interactive media, digital games, visual imaging, or characters and comics

  • Unit R093: externally assessed exam (40%)
  • two internally assessed coursework units (60%), where pupils plan, design, create and export digital media to a client brief

Where it leads

Where it leads

Creative iMedia opens progression to Level 3 digital media, IT and creative pathways, and sits within the STEM strand of the Expansive Curriculum. It pairs well with Engineering and Science.
