GCSE Health & Social Care (NCFE Level 2)

Health and social care level 2 at Kingsley is the NCFE vocational qualification, a GCSE-equivalent course taught in Years 10 and 11. It suits pupils drawn to caring roles and to understanding how people grow and are supported through life.

What you'll study

Core topics include:

provision and services within health and social care
human lifecycle development from birth to death
job roles, legislation and policies
care needs and the care planning cycle
partnership working

How it's assessed

Assessment is practical and applied. Pupils build classroom knowledge and apply it through case studies and role play, supported by trips, visits and guest speakers, with optional work experience.

Where it leads

The course leads to Level 3 Health & Social Care and towards careers in care, nursing and allied health. It builds the compassion, professionalism and life skills that these fields ask for, and connects with the Sixth Form.
