Top Universities Programme Scholarship

Run in collaboration with Greene's College in Oxford, the Top Universities Programme helps Sixth Formers pursue a place at a Russell Group university, including Oxford and Cambridge. A scholarship brings individual, expert support through the whole application process.

Who it’s for

The kind of young person we are looking for

This is for Sixth Formers who aspire to study at a top UK university, or who wish to read medicine, veterinary science, law or engineering. Entry requires eight GCSEs at grades 7 to 9, with a grade 8 or 9 in the subjects you wish to study at A level, and equivalent international qualifications are accepted. You should be ready to prepare before most weekly sessions and to debate and challenge commonly accepted thinking.

What a scholar receives

Weekly seminar-style sessions delivered personally by the Headmaster, exploring topics and issues that stretch and challenge your thinking beyond your A level courses.
Help in strategising which universities and courses to apply to, based on your academic profile and aspirations.
Guidance on your wider reading, Extended Project Qualification research, online lecture programmes, podcasts and talks, and on relevant work experience.
Support and practice for specialist entrance examinations, including those for law, medicine and Oxford and Cambridge entry, with advice on suitable MOOC qualifications.
Interview training at Greene's College, including a one-night residential in Oxford.

What to send, and by when

Complete the Scholarship Application Form, uploading your latest school report with grades and current predictions and a reference from your current school, alongside a personal statement. To receive an invitation for a scholarship interview, you must complete the application by 31st October 2026.

The award

Generous, and awarded case by case

A generous scholarship award against published fees, with individual, expert support through the university application process, weekly seminars with the Headmaster, entrance examination practice and interview training at Greene's College in Oxford. A small number of awards are made each year.
