The kind of young person we are looking for
We are looking for young people who have attended music or singing lessons for at least two years and have gained accreditation from an officially recognised body, such as ABRSM, LAMDA, CDMT, Arts Award or Rock School. You will be able to demonstrate progress and aptitude, supported by a reference from your current music teacher or school. Scholars perform in internal, local and national performances, represent Kingsley in competitions as required, and mentor younger musicians and those working at lower grades.

What a scholar receives
- A free instrumental or singing lesson each week, working towards external examinations in one discipline.
- Free ABRSM examination preparation and examination entry.
- Free LAMDA examination preparation and examination entry, where relevant.
- Free Arts Award entry.
- Active membership of the Performing Arts Society, with your progress recorded and monitored on your own scholarship tracker.
What to send, and by when
Complete the Scholarship Application Form with a personal statement, a reference from your current music teacher or school, and your music certificates and supporting documents, and prepare a short live or pre-recorded performance piece. To receive an invitation for a scholarship interview, you must complete the application by 31st October 2026.
Generous, and awarded case by case
The award is made in kind: one free instrumental or singing lesson a week towards external examinations in one discipline, free ABRSM preparation and examination entry, free LAMDA preparation and entry where relevant, and free Arts Award entry.
