The kind of young person we are looking for
We are looking for young people with a keen interest in drama who can show active participation in school or local theatre company productions. You may also have gained accreditation from an officially recognised body, such as LAMDA, CDMT or Arts Award. You will be able to demonstrate progress and aptitude for drama or musical theatre, supported by a reference from your current drama teacher, school or theatre company, and will have completed a short live or pre-recorded performance piece.
What a scholar receives
- Free LAMDA examination preparation and examination entry where relevant, with one free lesson a week towards external examinations in one discipline.
- Free Arts Award entry.
- A part in all school performances and productions relevant to your age.
- The chance to represent the school in local, regional and national competitions.
- Active membership of the Performing Arts Society, with your progress recorded and monitored on your own scholarship tracker.
What to send, and by when
Complete the Scholarship Application Form with a personal statement, a reference from your drama teacher, school or theatre company, and any certificates and supporting documents, and prepare a short live or pre-recorded performance piece. To receive an invitation for a scholarship interview, you must complete the application by 31st October 2026.
Generous, and awarded case by case
The award is made in kind: free LAMDA examination preparation and entry where relevant, one free lesson a week towards external examinations in one discipline, and free Arts Award entry, alongside a part in school productions and a place in the Performing Arts Society.
