Mr Pavis' Video Newsletter: Friday 17th October

As we reach the halfway mark in the autumn term, this week’s video newsletter reflects on the energy and achievements that have filled our first half of the school year. From early pre-season sports and the borders induction camp to standout moments in music, drama, sport, and beyond — it’s been a term to remember.

We’ve hosted inspiring performances in our Welcome Back Concert, launched our new Coastal Adventures programme, and welcomed authors for Literacy Week and Languages Awareness Week. Inter-House events like “It’s a Knockout” and “Shout” brought fun and connection, while our Arts Pathways continued to enrich the school’s cultural life.

In sport, our judo team made history by winning the Kazoku Trophy with an outstanding medal haul, while our football and netball teams continued to impress — with our U18s unbeaten in the National League and senior netballers celebrating a win against Galaxy Titans. Rugby success followed with the U14s reaching the North Devon final, and our Year 7 cross-country runners storming to first place at the North Devon schools competition.

Last night, our Sixth Form Open Evening welcomed students from across the region — a wonderful celebration of Kingsley’s next chapter. Year 11 and Year 13 students are now gearing up for their mock exams after half term, with guidance and interviews to support sixth form choices already underway.

And finally, we’re thrilled to unveil our brand-new floodlit netball courts — just in time for the darker evenings. A fantastic facility that will allow our students to continue training and competing throughout the winter.
