A Taste of Spain: International Students Cook Up a Feast
This week, Kingsley’s catering department was transformed into a hub of Spanish culinary magic as a group of our international students from Years 8 to 11 took over the kitchen to cook supper for the entire boarding community.
The event was the culmination of weeks of thoughtful preparation. From planning the menu and tracking down family recipes to sourcing authentic ingredients and undergoing training to work in a commercial kitchen, our student chefs embraced the challenge with energy and enthusiasm.
As soon as lessons ended on Wednesday, the team swapped school uniforms for chef whites and got straight to work. Their goal? To bring a taste of home to Kingsley—and they more than delivered.
Cooking for over 70 people, the students served up a mouth-watering array of traditional Spanish dishes including Paella, Tortilla, aioli, gazpacho, and patatas bravas. The result was an unforgettable evening of flavour, community, and cultural celebration.
