Welcome to this weeks video newsletter!

This week’s video newsletter comes to you from inside Longfield House, home to Kingsley’s senior boys’ boarding community. We celebrate the nurturing and homely environment our boarders experience thanks to our fantastic boarding staff.

From beach cleans and arts showcases to national-level sports, it’s been another action-packed week at Kingsley! Our Earth Centre pathway students in Years 8 and 9 were out at Instow beach, while our Arts Pathway lit up the school with exhibitions and performances, including an incredible Year 3–4 production of Cinders and Sherlock. Don’t forget to visit the Burton Art Gallery in Bideford to see some of our students’ artwork proudly on display.

We also welcomed parents to our Arts Showcase and look forward to hosting students from West Buckland for the Prep Music Festival on Monday, followed by a Stretch & Challenge academic day on Tuesday with over 50 students from across Devon.

A big thank you to all staff supporting Year 11 and 13 students with extra clinics and workshops as they gear up for the summer exams. Our A-level Art and Photography students completed their practical assessments this week – we can’t wait to see the final pieces!

In sports, we celebrate Jesse’s phenomenal success at the British Gymnastics Championships, where she earned two silver and two bronze medals and was placed second overall nationally. Our judoka returned from Bedminster with a haul of 3 gold, 2 silver, and 7 bronze medals, and they’re back in action again this weekend.

Meanwhile, our rugby sevens teams played at the Rosslyn Park National Schools Sevens, the world’s largest school rugby festival. Both U14 and U16 teams impressed, with standout performances from Logan and Will.

Footballers celebrated a win over West Buckland, and our undefeated senior netball team ended the season in style with a thrilling 22–18 win. Huge congratulations to Ella, player of the match, and all our netballers for an amazing season.

Coming up: the Easter service at St Mary’s Church in Bideford (2:30pm on Thursday), more judo and gymnastics this weekend, the music festival on Monday, the academic Stretch & Challenge on Tuesday, and quad biking for our boarders!
