A very happy New Year from everyone at Kingsley! It’s been fantastic to see students back on campus this week — the school is alive again with energy, laughter, and excitement as we begin an action-packed new term.

We kicked things off with Inter-House Sport, featuring boys’ touch rugby on the grass pitches and girls’ football on the 3G. Participation was brilliant across the board — a true example of the Kingsley spirit, with everyone encouraged to get involved, try something new, and build that sense of community we’re so proud of.

In the arts, we’ve officially launched our entries for the ISA National Music Composition Competition, alongside our many students already taking part in the performance categories. Good luck to all who’ve entered — we look forward to hearing the results later this term!

Thursday evening saw our first Year 8 “Girls on Board” team-building workshop — part of an important initiative helping students across Key Stages 2 and 3 to strengthen friendships, communication, and kindness. It’s all about ensuring everyone feels happy, safe, and supported — key pillars of the Kingsley ethos.

Looking ahead to the weekend, best of luck to all our cross-country runners competing at the Burrows on Sunday, and to our Longfield boarders heading out for a well-deserved laser tag trip.

This term promises plenty more to come — with Mary Poppins, our whole-school musical, taking centre stage at half term. Rehearsals are in full swing, and tickets will go on sale soon for what’s sure to be a spectacular show. Alongside that, our Concerts on the Bridge return, plus a busy schedule of netball and football fixtures, personal adventure activities, and Earth Centre projects in the local community and on the beaches nearby.

A big thank you also goes to our PTA, who continue to make an incredible difference through their fundraising and support. The next Dragon’s Den Challenge has launched, where students will pitch their ideas for new resources and facilities to enhance school life — all made possible by the PTA’s efforts. Finally, planning is already underway for our next major event — the May Fayre, which promises to be another highlight of the Kingsley calendar.
