We also celebrate some outstanding student achievements over half term. A huge congratulations to Willow in Year 8, who secured a top-five UK placement in the National Surfing Championships, and to Jessie, who represented Scotland in an international gymnastics tournament in Switzerland.

It’s been a packed return to school, with rugby teams scoring impressive wins across age groups — including the Senior Boys edging a 43–48 victory against Millfield B, and wins from the U16s and U13s. Our Girls Rugby team also took to the pitch against Shebbear, as we continue to grow the girls’ rugby programme across the region.

In football, the Senior team remains unbeaten in the National League following a 2–2 draw against Truro & Penwith, with Max named Player of the Match. Meanwhile, cross-country runners Henry (Y10) and Henry (Y7) both secured first-place finishes in the North Devon Schools competition and will now progress to the County Finals.

In the South West ISA Swimming Tournament, six Kingsley swimmers qualified for the National Finals in London — achieving a remarkable total of six 1st places, nine 2nd places, and six 3rd place finishes. Congratulations to all involved.

On the arts and enrichment front, our GCSE Drama students enjoyed a workshop trip to Plymouth, with Music students following with a workshop of their own in Crediton. Eleanor was named Player of the Tournament in this week’s Netball fixture hosted at Park.

This week also saw the launch of our inter-house competitions in art, debating, and public speaking, and we wish everyone luck in the weeks ahead.

Finally, all eyes now turn to Year 11 and Year 13, who begin their second set of mock exams next Thursday. Keep working hard — we’re behind you every step of the way.
