Today from the Kingsley Theatre, which has been buzzing with creativity and celebration.

The week started with our Arts Awards showcases for Years 7–9, displaying exceptional work in music, drama, and art. These showcases are part of Kingsley’s journey to becoming an Artsmark-accredited centre, promoting the transformative power of the arts. Adding to the excitement, Nursery and Reception delivered a heartwarming Nativity performance, and Years 1–2 shone in their production of The Wizard of Oz. Both events highlighted how drama builds confidence, resilience, and self-esteem in our students from the youngest years through to Year 13. The arts continued to take centre stage with Evangelina’s wonderful performance in our lunchtime On the Bridge concert, and today we hosted the much-anticipated Inter-House Public Speaking Competition. Good luck to all participants – may the best house win!

It’s also been an action-packed week in sports. Congratulations to the U12 and U13 netball teams for their victories at St Joseph’s and to our U16s for their performance in the North Devon League. Swimmers Harrison, Elvis, and Elise represented the South West at the National Schools Finals in London, with Elise winning two bronze medals – an incredible achievement! The U15 rugby team triumphed over Torquay Grammar School, and our U13s excelled in Mount Kelly’s rugby 10s competition, winning the plate event. The football season kicked off with competitive matches against Petroc and the RTC Romar Development Centre – well done to all players, and we look forward to seeing more next term.

Special thanks go to Mr Bulmer, who gave an inspiring talk to our geographers about his work on the redevelopment of Old Trafford, sharing insights into careers in urban planning. Gratitude also goes to the PTA for hosting last weekend’s magical Christmas Fair and the annual wreath-making workshops, which brought festive joy to our community.

As we approach the final week of term, we’re excited for all the Christmas festivities, including the Carol Service on Thursday at 2:30 PM, Christmas jumper days, dinners, and a weekend of activities for our boarders.
