Welcome to this week’s video newsletter from Kingsley School!

We begin with sport, where our Primary Schools U11 Tag Rugby Tournament is taking centre stage on the 3G pitch and surrounding fields. Despite the classic Devon downpour, the spirit and energy on display is unmatched, with around ten schools from across the region taking part. The atmosphere isone of determination, teamwork, and pure enjoyment — a fantastic day for all involved.

It’s been another busy and successful week for our Kingsley teams. Our U14 boys rugby team secured a well-earned victory against Plymouth College, while the U13s won their first match of the season against St Joseph’s School. The U18s faced a strong Truro side in a rematch following our earlier National Cup win — this time, Truro edged ahead in a closely contested fixture. Meanwhile, our U14 girls rugby team made history, playing their first competitive match against Bideford College. It was a thrilling, high-scoring game with huge energy and enthusiasm from both sides — a great launch to the season.

The senior netball team also had a brilliant week, recording a win in the North Devon Ladies League on Monday and putting in a strong performance at the West Buckland tournament. Our senior footballers celebrated a notable victory over Petroc, turning around last year’s loss into a convincing win — a real testament to their growth and teamwork.

Off the pitch, our Performing Arts Academy took the spotlight at the Welcome Back Concert — undoubtedly one of the week’s highlights. Musicians, drama students, and art scholars delivered an unforgettable evening of performances and exhibitions. The bridge leading into the theatre was filled with stunning student artwork, setting the tone for what was an exceptional concert. We are so proud of the talent and commitment shown by all involved.

We also welcomed back students from their cultural visits to Barcelona and Paris, who returned with brilliant stories and unforgettable memories. This term is packed with opportunities for enrichment both in and out of the classroom, and it’s inspiring to see so many students embracing them.
