Welcome to this week’s video newsletter from Kingsley School!

With glorious weather and plenty of excitement, it’s been a wonderful week of sport, following the Senior School Sports Day earlier in the week where countless records were broken and almost the entire senior school took part in representing their houses. We’re eagerly awaiting the final results and congratulate everyone for their fantastic effort and team spirit.

A huge highlight in sports news is the incredible achievement of Jesse in Year 7, who has been selected to represent Great Britain in an international gymnastics tournament in Switzerland this summer — we’re so proud of you, Jesse!

The arts have also been shining this week as our students lit up the stage with the school play, “Salt,” delivering an outstanding performance in the theatre. This was followed by our Scholars Evening, where talented students from across pathways including sports, STEM, music, arts, surfing, and academics presented the impressive projects and achievements they’ve accomplished this year. It was a true celebration of Kingsley’s creativity, dedication, and diverse talents.

Our Year 6 to 7 Transition Day welcomed new students set to join Year 7 in September, both from our own Prep School and from local primary schools, ensuring a smooth start for their Kingsley journey. Meanwhile, our Year 12 Transition Day saw many familiar and new faces preparing for life in the Sixth Form, and we look forward to seeing them all thrive in the new academic year.

The Earth Centre projects have also been bearing fruit—literally! Students have been busy harvesting vegetables from our school gardens, which are now making their way into delicious meals in the dining hall, tying our sustainability and environmental efforts directly into everyday life at Kingsley.

This weekend, we’re hosting the inaugural Kingsley Cup football tournament, welcoming over 400 young players for two days of exciting competition — a fantastic milestone for football at Kingsley School. Looking ahead, we’re thrilled for Kingsley Entertains, happening next week in the theatre at 6:00pm, promising another brilliant showcase of music, drama, and student talent.

Next week also brings Enrichment Week, packed with diverse trips and activities designed to deepen students’ learning across academic and creative pathways. Though I’ll miss church next Thursday at 2:30pm, I’ll be accompanying our Top University Programme students on a special two-day visit to Oxford as part of their UCAS journey.

As we approach the end of term, don’t forget that we’ll be finishing next Friday at 1:00pm, ushering in a well-deserved summer break for all. Wishing everyone a wonderful weekend ahead, filled with sunshine and excitement!
