Hello (or Ohayo Gozaimas), and welcome to this weeks newsleteter!

This week’s video newsletter begins with a touch of international celebration, as Kingsley School proudly receives three cherry blossom trees gifted by the Japanese Embassy. In a special ceremony, students took part in a traditional saké pouring ritual, and our judoka showcased their skills in honour of the occasion — highlighting both our Earth Centre curriculum and global connections.

Back from the Easter break, it’s been a vibrant return to school life. We congratulate our drama, art, photography, and hospitality students for completing key practical assessments just before the holidays, and we welcomed “Beat Goes On” for an inspiring body percussion workshop with both staff and students.

Our theatre group heads to Exeter to perform their play Play 2.0 in the National Theatre competition — fingers crossed for a spot in London! In sport, rugby players celebrated end-of-season awards, netballers triumphed at the Paignton tournament, swimmers trained internationally, and our gymnastic star Jesse returned from Portugal as Youth Champion.

There’s also exciting news for tennis and athletics, with new coaching and training programmes now underway. Our Surf Academy launched Passport 2.0 — featuring new modules in creativity, water safety, and leadership. Huge congrats to Aym Dupuy, now certified to train students as Level 1 Surf Coaches through Surfing England.

Finally, good luck to Year 10 and 12 students starting mock exams this week, and to Years 11 and 13 who begin public exams later this term.
