Mr Pavis' Video Newsletter: Friday 24th April

Welcome back — and what a contrast. Just two weeks ago, a group of our students were skiing through ice and snow in Sweden, and here we are basking in glorious summer term sunshine. Long may it continue.

Both the ski trip and the surf trip to France over Easter were a huge success. The waves were kind, the slopes were memorable, and I couldn't be prouder of the way every student conducted themselves and represented Kingsley. Those are the kinds of memories that stay with you for life.

Back on home turf, the summer term is well and truly underway. Athletics has started in earnest — a brilliant turnout at Wednesday's 5pm session, and if you missed it, come along next Wednesday from five till six on the sports fields. Our cricketers have been down at the cricket club this week, and Mr Ward would love to see more students getting involved ahead of what promises to be a great fixtures season. Our First XI footballers, meanwhile, are rounding off an incredible season — this week they travelled to Yeovil and came away with a four-all draw, with Riley earning a well-deserved Player of the Match.

We were disappointed to have to cancel last night's astronomy lecture, which was due to include a live link to a NASA scientist in Washington. Sadly illness intervened, but we're hoping to reschedule and will share details as soon as we can — it's going to be a brilliant event when it happens.

Good luck to all our Year 10 and Year 12 students heading into their mock exams next week. You've worked hard over the Easter break and you deserve to see that reflected in your results.

This weekend, best of luck to our netball girls — Years 7 to 11 — at their tournament, to our Ten Tors teams on their second training camp, and to all our judoka competing in the judo competition here in the sports hall. Our boarders are off to the Aqua Park and out on a coastal bike ride — they're going to get wet either way.
