Welcome to this week’s video newsletter from Kingsley School, coming to you from the Sixth Form Centre! We’re reminded of the exciting year ahead and the incredible success of our Sixth Form students, who achieved the school’s best-ever value-added scores in this summer’s results. With places limited to just 40, now’s the time to book your space for our Sixth Form Open Evening on 16th October — including information on our generous scholarships in sport and academic pathways.

This week also saw a fantastic Year 7 Open Morning, with over 40 families visiting the school. And it’s been another stellar week in sport: a bronze medal for Willow in the Surfing England Junior Series, and Olivia’s selection to the Devon Girls Golf Development Squad after an excellent summer season. Rugby success continued as the U14 team won their first-ever National Cup match against Torquay Boys Grammar School, and the U16 boys took two out of three matches in Taunton. Meanwhile, our senior boys football team made their debut in the National College Football League — and secured a brilliant first win against Weymouth!

We also had a successful showing at the Surf Skate Expo in Newquay, where we announced exciting new collaborations — including a major new partnership with O’Neill. The opportunities for students continue to grow across all pathways at Kingsley.

A reminder that our new Parent Portal is live, offering improved communication and access to relevant information for parents across the school. Some content, such as photo galleries, is still being populated — but for prep parents, there’s already lots to explore.

Finally, we’re thrilled to announce this year’s Guy Fawkes Night celebration on 7th November will feature a spectacular laser light show (son et lumière), replacing our traditional fireworks display. Produced by the team fresh off the Kylie Minogue tour, this promises to be an unforgettable evening. Tickets will be limited, with priority access for Kingsley families.
