Mr Pavis' Video Newsletter: Friday 18th October

Welcome to this week’s newsletter!

On this last day of the half term, we’re celebrating our "Own Clothes Day" in support of the charity Just One Tree. Everyone is wearing green to show our support! A huge thanks to Mr. Dupuy, who has gotten all our students into the water for surfing this term, and as we head into winter, smaller groups will continue surfing and learning board repair. Students have also explored screen printing, visited the Museum of Surfing, and even attended an electric surfboard workshop – as one of our newest members of staff has said, Kingsley really is like “Hogwarts with surfing!”

Congratulations to our UK Senior Maths Challenge competitors – we had 4 bronze, 3 silver, and 2 gold medalists, with Kate and Alfie moving on to the national rounds! Our gymnasts also excelled at the Southwest Qualifiers, with Tiger and Maddie representing the Southwest at nationals. On the sports field, our rugby teams remain unbeaten, and our U13 football team made their debut!

This week, we welcomed over 60 families to our Sixth Form Open Evening, where there was a great buzz around the opportunities at Kingsley. We’ll finish the half term on a high note with the Inter House Music Competition, which promises to be an amazing celebration of our students’ talents and well-being. Good luck to our Year 11 and Year 13 students preparing for their mock exams after the break.
