Hello and welcome to this week's video newsletter!

This weekend marks the official opening of Kingsley’s new 3G all-weather pitch! We are honoured to welcome Amy Garnett, the first England women’s rugby player to reach 100 caps, who will cut the ribbon on this fantastic facility. The event will be followed by an Under-14 girls’ rugby match between Bideford and Launceston—join us on Sunday at 10:30 AM for a bacon butty breakfast and the celebrations.

In sports, our Under-13 indoor athletics team secured second place in the Devon Inter-Schools Indoor Athletics Tournament. At the National Gymnastics Finals, our Under-19s performed superbly, with Maddie placing in the top five for the floor exercises. British Gymnastics sent a glowing commendation to Kingsley, recognising the school’s dedication to the sport. Our national finalists in judo also excelled, with Willow and Otis both securing bronze medals in the British Judo Championships.

In cross-country, James, Oakley, and Kerenza competed in the ISA National Finals, with James finishing in 17th place nationally! Meanwhile, our girls’ football teams (Under-13 and Under-15) and our Under-15 boys’ football team competed in Inter-Schools tournaments, while our Under-14 netballers won six of their seven games in their competition.

On Tuesday night, our GCSE and BTEC Drama and Music students from Year 10 to Year 13 delivered incredible performances in the theatre, which now contribute to their final qualifications. Kingsley musicians have also been making an impact, with students performing alongside their teachers in the North Devon Sinfonia Orchestra and preparing for next Saturday’s ABRSM public music examinations.

In the arts, Kingsley students are exhibiting their work at the Burton Art Gallery in Bideford until April 22nd, showcasing their creativity alongside students from across North Devon.

For our exam students, mock exams are wrapping up for Year 11 and Year 13, and their results will guide revision efforts over Easter. Year 12 students, your first set of mocks will take place immediately after the Easter break—use this time wisely to prepare!

Lastly, parents are invited to sign up via ISAMS for the Vision for Kingsley 2035 presentations at the end of term. This is an exciting opportunity to hear about future plans for the school, and we look forward to welcoming as many of you as possible.
