Mr Pavis' Video Newsletter: Friday 2nd October
This week's newsletter starts with a huge thank you to every student, from nursery right up to Year 13, for the way you presented yourselves while our ISI inspection visitors were with us. You showed the very best versions of yourselves and made a real impression on the inspectors. The Kingsley family pulled together brilliantly, and I'm so grateful to everyone. We looked great on Tuesday morning too, just before the inspection began, when the whole school and all our staff gathered on the field for our whole-school photograph. We look forward to sharing it in a few weeks' time.
Our senior school students in Years 7 to 11 have been enjoying visits from Appledore Book Festival authors, taking part in morning workshops in their year groups. Thank you to all the authors, and to the festival, for a collaboration that is helping to drive our literacy programme forward. Our geographers are out on a field trip today.
In sport, we tried something new this week by entering the ISA National Skiing Competition, and Ollie in Year 7 was placed nationally. Very well done! Our senior girls won their North Devon League netball game, and our Under 13 A and B netball teams recorded a win and a draw respectively, with Sophie and Florian named players of the match. On the rugby pitch, Harrison was player of the match for Year 8 in a tournament that brought one win and one loss, while Will was player of the match for our Year 9 Under 14s, who won both their games. Our senior team beat Wells Cathedral School convincingly in the Continental Tyres Cup, with Joe named player of the match, and our Under 13s also won their fixture, with Freddie taking the player of the match award.
Today is a big day, with Year 5 and Year 6 out on the 3G pitch for a rugby tag competition. We're looking forward to hearing the results later. It's another busy weekend, with our boarders off fishing and quad biking, and we're delighted to welcome the cross country league to Kingsley.
Look forward to speaking to you all again next week. Thank you and bye for now.
