Bonfire Night with an Eco-Friendly Twist: Kingsley Laser Spectacular Returns

Our sell-out Laser Spectacular is back on Friday 6th November, lighting up the North Devon sky above the Kingsley Sports Field in Bideford. In place of traditional fireworks, lasers, flame effects and music will create a dazzling family evening, with all profits going to Tabitha's Smile, the North Devon charity founded in memory of former Kingsley pupil Tabitha Tulloch-Peet.

Tickets are now on sale and, as last year's show sold out, we'd recommend booking early.

A greener way to celebrate

The Laser Spectacular reflects our ethos, Better Me, Better World. With no smoke or debris, the show avoids the air pollution and litter left behind by fireworks, while a wide-ranging soundtrack takes the place of explosive bangs. It's a fitting celebration for a school that has been recognised as an Eco-Schools Green Flag school with Distinction for the fourth consecutive time and, this year, has also been named a UNESCO Green School.

The event is designed to be enjoyed by everyone. Last year, one parent told us: "The first time my SEN child has come home from a 'bonfire' night celebration without a breakdown over the fireworks. He absolutely loved the event and has asked if we can go next year."

New for 2026

Interactive light-up wristbands will sync with the show, making the audience part of the display. We're also introducing new animations, alongside a bouncy castle and face painting for younger guests.

The show is produced by one of the UK's leading display teams, whose work includes events for Kylie Minogue and Pete Tong. Expect family favourites from Frozen, Moana, Barbie, Wicked and The Greatest Showman, alongside tracks from Chase & Status, Fatboy Slim, The Chemical Brothers, Kasabian and Zara Larsson.

Local street food will be served on the field, and the Kingsley PTA will be running an indoor café with seating in the Sports Hall.

Supporting Tabitha's Smile

Founded in Tabitha's memory, Tabitha's Smile brings uplifting theatre and music experiences to young people aged 13 to 25 facing cancer or other life-limiting illnesses. The evening will close with "Sparkle", the song Tabitha co-wrote with local artist Yazzy.

Tabitha's family said: "It means so much to us that Kingsley, a school that was such a special part of Tabitha's life, has chosen Tabitha's Smile as its official charity for this year's event. We can't think of a more wonderful way to celebrate Tabitha's memory."

[Headteacher Robert Pavis said: "The Laser Spectacular shows that a celebration can be spectacular and sustainable at the same time. It brings our community together, welcomes every family, and this year supports a cause very close to our hearts."] Draft quote for approval
