For this generation of pupils, it’s highly likely that their future will, in some way, involve science. 70% of all businesses, according to the National Careers Service, employ people with a background in science, technology, engineering and maths skills.

Most of our pupils love getting stuck into experiments and practicals. Today, students in the Grenville Centre have been enjoying learning about pH and neutralisation. After making their own indicators using red cabbage, turmeric and spinach, they then had the task of exactly neutralising an acid with an alkali. The students' preferred indicator was the red cabbage. In the afternoon, STEM became STEAM as we used the red cabbage indicator, bicarbonate of soda and lemon juice to make amazing artwork!
