Science Technician

Hours: Negotiable
Salary: £14.20 per hour plus holiday pay.

We are seeking a proactive and organised Science Technician to support our dynamic Science Department across Biology, Chemistry, and Physics at Key Stages 3, 4, and 5. You will also be involved in our STEM Pathway which forms part of our Extensive Curriculum. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in delivering engaging, practical science education within a well-resourced and forward-thinking environment.

The Role

Working closely with our teaching staff, you will:

  • Prepare and set up equipment and materials for practical lessons across all three sciences
  • Ensure laboratories and prep rooms are safe, organised, and fully equipped
  • Support the delivery of practical work at GCSE and A-Level
  • Maintain equipment and manage stock, including chemicals and consumables
  • Uphold the highest standards of health and safety

About You

We are looking for someone who:

  • Is highly organised, reliable, and able to manage a varied workload
  • Has a keen eye for detail and a practical, hands-on approach
  • Enjoys working as part of a team in a busy school environment
  • Has a good understanding of science (experience in a school or lab setting is desirable but not essential)
  • Is committed to supporting young people in their learning
