Prep School Head

Position: Head of Kingsley Prep School
Contract: Full-time, Permanent
Start: September 2026

Kingsley School is seeking an inspiring and dynamic Head of Kingsley Prep School to lead our thriving Prep and Nursery provision. This is an exceptional opportunity for an ambitious educational leader to shape the next phase of development in a warm, forward-thinking and inclusive independent school.

The Head of Kingsley Prep School will provide strategic, academic, pastoral and operational leadership of the Prep School, and will be a key member of the whole-school leadership structure. The post-holder will be line-managed by the Head of the Senior School and will line-manage the Prep School Director of Studies, Prep School staff, EYFS Lead, and the Nursery Manager.

In addition, the successful candidate will serve as Prep School SENDCO, holding responsibility for SEND provision in the Prep and EYFS. We are looking for a leader who:

  • Has proven experience in the independent, primary or prep sector
  • Understands excellence in teaching, learning and pastoral care
  • Is committed to inclusion and evidence-informed SEND practice
  • Can build strong relationships with pupils, parents and staff

Prep School Head Job Description


EYFS Practitioner

25 hours per week, 52 weeks per year

Permanent or Maternity cover

£12.50 per hour

Are you caring, energetic, and passionate about early childhood development? We’re looking for a dedicated Nursery Assistant to join our warm and nurturing team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the planning and delivery of play-based learning activities for children aged 0-5
  • Assist with daily routines including mealtimes, nappy changes, sleep times and hygiene
  • Observe, record and support children’s developmental progress
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and stimulating environment
  • Build positive relationships with children, parents, and colleagues
  • Help with set-up, tidying, and preparation of resources

About You:

  • A genuine love for working with young children
  • Patience, kindness, and strong communication skills
  • Ability to work as part of a team and independently when needed
  • Relevant childcare qualification (e.g. NVQ Level 3 in Early Years) is essential
  • Experience in a nursery or early years setting is a plus

EYFS Practitioner Job Description


Teaching Assistant

32 hours per week, 35 weeks per year

£12.21 per hour

We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Teaching Assistant (TA) to join our bespoke Connect Centre team. You will work closely with our SENDCo, teachers, and external professionals to support students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).

This is a rewarding role where you will:

  • Support students in small classes (1:4) and in smaller group or 1:1 settings.
  • Plan and deliver lessons or targeted interventions.
  • Help students develop confidence, independence, and essential skills.
  • Lead classes in the teacher’s absence, ensuring a positive learning environment.
  • Work with families and outside agencies to ensure every child’s needs are met.

No two days are the same – you’ll be making a real difference to young people’s education and well-being.

What We’re Looking For

  • Experience supporting students with SEND (e.g. autism, ADHD, dyslexia, physical or medical needs).
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Patience, empathy, and a proactive approach to supporting students.
