The Story So Far: FC Rise | Kingsley Devon - U18 Football Academy
Our U18 Football Academy kicked off its first year in September, and what a start it’s been.
So far, the team has recorded three impressive wins against Petroc College, Weymouth College, and Taunton College, with our only defeat coming against Torquay Academy, a full-time programme with over ten years of experience.
That game, despite the result, was especially valuable. It revealed the team’s hunger and determination to outwork their opponents, reinforcing the key message that effort and attitude lie at the heart of everything we do.
Frank Rosenwald, Head Coach at the FC Rise | Kinglsey Devon Academy, commented, " As a coach, my focus over the first month has been on setting standards and ensuring the boys always 'leave the best impression.” Our three core pillars - work the hardest, show respect, and communicate positively - underpin everything we do and shape the habits we’re building as a group. We still have work to do, but we’re making excellent progress in living out these values each day."
Beyond the results on the pitch, personal development remains a key focus. I’m always looking for the small wins, from warmly welcoming our international players to making sure every piece of equipment is counted in after games. These moments show the boys’ commitment to the values of both a Kingsley pupil and an FC Rise player.
It’s been an exciting start, and we’re looking forward to our next block of work and even more progress ahead.
