Sports Performance Workshop: Skill Acquisition and Applied Training

At the end of the first half term, Kingsley’s sports scholars and ACE Pathway athletes attended the first Sports Performance Workshop of the academic year, centred on Skill Acquisition through pre-hab and rehab education. The dynamic session explored three critical components of high-performance training:

  • Rotational Strength

  • The Potentiation Phase of a Warm-Up

  • Neurocognitive Training

Led by Chartered Physiotherapist and Rehabilitation Specialist Nic Costiff, the workshop blended expert knowledge with hands-on training. Nic brings a world-class pedigree, having previously worked with the Special Forces, Royal Marines, and as a Team GB physiotherapist at the London 2012 Paralympic Games.

This marks the third session with Nic, and it’s been rewarding to witness the ongoing development of our athletes. His continued guidance introduces innovative techniques that enhance individualised training plans, improve performance, and build injury resilience.
