On Sunday, Kingsley School proudly hosted the latest round of the Bremco North Devon Cross Country League, welcoming young athletes from across the region for a day of spirited competition, teamwork, and determination.
The event drew hundreds of runners from primary and secondary schools across North Devon, as well as visiting schools from Plymouth and Tavistock, each eager to test their endurance on Kingsley’s challenging yet picturesque course. The route wound through the school’s extensive grounds, offering a mix of open fields, woodland trails, and challenging inclines that showcased the campus's beauty while testing runners’ stamina.
The atmosphere was vibrant as parents, teachers, and supporters lined the course to cheer on participants.
Director of Sport Mr Ward, commented,
“It was a pleasure to welcome so many talented and enthusiastic young runners to Kingsley. Events like this capture the true spirit of school sport, effort, resilience, and sportsmanship.”
Several Kingsley pupils delivered standout performances, finishing strongly in their respective age categories and earning valuable points for our Kingsley school team. The results from this round will contribute to the overall league standings, with anticipation already building for the next fixture, scheduled for 2nd November at Shebbear College.
The school extends its thanks to all visiting schools, including those from North Devon, Plymouth, and Tavistock, as well as parents and the organisers of the Bremco North Devon Cross Country League, for their continued support in promoting youth athletics.
Kingsley School looks forward to hosting future events and continuing to play an active role in developing local sporting talent.
