At Kingsley, we know how important it is to find the right school, a place where your child will feel supported, inspired, and truly able to thrive. Yesterday’s Year 7 Open Day gave us the opportunity to open our doors to prospective students and their families for a joyful, hands-on morning full of energy, discovery, and connection.
From the moment they arrived, our guests were welcomed by friendly smiles and warm greetings, as Year 9, 10 and Sixth Form students proudly took the lead in guiding families around our campus. Their confidence and enthusiasm set the tone, giving visitors a first-hand insight into what student life at Kingsley is really like.
The morning was packed with interactive experiences across every corner of the school. Budding scientists had a blast making slime with Mr Humphreys, while over in the Food Tech room, Mrs Arthur led a delicious session crafting nutritious protein balls, a perfect introduction to our practical, health-conscious curriculum.
Our love for the outdoors shone through with Mr Dupuy, who inspired future adventurers with tales of surfing and ocean exploration. Students even tried their hand at surfboard shaping and had a go at skateboarding, capturing a real sense of the exciting, active opportunities Kingsley offers.
The buzz continued in the Sports Hall with Mr Ward, where high-energy sessions included netball, tag rugby, and speed challenges , giving students a fun, active break and a taste of our vibrant PE programme.
In Music, the fun didn’t stop. With Mr Trythall, students got a crash course in music production, building their own electronic drum tracks, a perfect intro to our dynamic music curriculum. Over in the Earth Centre, Mr Harty and Miss Turner were getting hands-on with seasonal produce, inviting children to press their own fresh apple juice. Meanwhile, Drama came alive during a lively workshop led by Mrs Cringle, sparking imagination and confidence in even the shyest performers.
One of the standout moments? A powerful judo demonstration in the Dojo, where our talented Judokashowcased their technique and abilities.
None of this would have been possible without the dedication of our incredible staff, and of course, our Admissions Team, who orchestrated the entire day with care, attention to detail, and heartfelt hospitality. And let’snot forget the catering team, who, as always, provided a delicious selection drinks, cakes and cookies for all.
