North Devon, September 2025 – Kingsley School has warmly welcomed both new and returning boarders this term, marking the start of another exciting adventure on the North Devon coast.
New boarders arrived on Saturday, 30th August, joining either Belvoir or Longsfield House, guided by our dedicated house parents, Mr Craig Knowles (Boys’ House Parent) and Ms Jessica Willoughby (Girls’ House Parent). Just a few days later, on Tuesday, 2nd September, the full boarding community was reunited as returning students arrived back on campus, full of enthusiasm for the term ahead.
The early weeks of term have already seen students settle quickly into life at Kingsley. Common rooms are once again filled with the sound of laughter and conversation, and both boarding houses are alive with the unique sense of community that defines life at the school.
A Strong Start: Settling In the Kingsley Way
As always, Kingsley’s approach to the start of term goes beyond the classroom. The first month has been filled with many exciting, character-building activities designed to help students feel at home while embracing the unique opportunities offered by our coastal location.
Highlights so far have included:

Surf sessions with the Kingsley Surf Academy

Rock climbing on the North Devon cliffs

Sampling traditional Devon cream teas

Enjoying relaxed pizza nights with friends

River rafting and wakeboarding at North Devon Wake Park

Exploring the local aqua park
These shared experiences have helped new boarders integrate quickly and have given returning students a chance to reconnect, recharge, and remind themselves of what makes Kingsley life so special.
More Than a Boarding House—A Second Home
At Kingsley, boarding is more than just a place to stay; it’s an experience rooted in connection, personal growth, and opportunity. Students quickly learn that life in Belvoir and Longsfield is as much about community as it is about independence.
Over the past few weeks, students have begun forming lifelong friendships, developing routines, and maximising the benefits of Kingsley’s extensive curricular and co-curricular programmes.
“It already feels like a second home,” shared one new boarder. “Everyone’s been so welcoming, and there’s always something exciting going on.”
Looking Ahead
With the term now well underway, boarders can look forward to a packed calendar of activities, surf sessions, academic challenges, and community events. Whether it’s preparing for exams, learning a new skill, or joining in on weekend trips, life at Kingsley continues to offer adventure, purpose, and support every step of the way.
