Minotaur: an a-maze-ing musical!

Minotaur: an a-maze-ing musical!

A huge congratulations to the Year 5 and 6’s for their hilarious spin on the classic mythical tale of the Minotaur at the end of term. Although the Cretans and Athenians may have been deeply divided, I can safely say that the audience faced no such trouble in agreeing that the show was spectacular!

The talented young cast really hit the bulls-eye delivering everything from hilarious acting, glittering costumes, impressive set design, gymnastic stunts, to catchy songs. Transporting us back 4,000 years, the show was a jam-packed hour of hilarity, featuring standout moments such as a choreographed slow motion fight scene and several wildly creative renditions of imaginary ship sailing.

And though the Minotaur may have been half-man, half beast, the performance was certainly not half-hearted! The cast really brought the tale to life with energy, enthusiasm, and a healthy dose of pizzazz throughout the many musical numbers, creating a vibrant atmosphere long after they took their final bows.

This show was truly one of the highlights of Kingsley’s theatrical calendar, and it is such a treat to be able watch the Drama department continue to grow and flourish throughout all age groups.

A huge thank you to everyone involved—namely the director, Mr. Pryce; choreographer, Mrs. Luffman; all the performers, backstage crew, lighting and sound technicians, and the dedicated teachers and parents who supported the production. All of your hard work an dedication is what made this amazing show possible!
