Anton Ferdinand Inspires North Devon Youth During Visit to Kingsley School

Young footballers from across North Devon had an unforgettable afternoon on Wednesday, June 11th, as former Premier League star Anton Ferdinand visited Kingsley School in Bideford. The visit marked a major milestone for the launch of FC Rise | Kingsley Devon, a new elite football and education programme for 16 - 18-year-olds from The Ferdinand Collective

The day began with Kingsley Prep School hosting a friendly round-robin football tournament with Hartland Primary and St Mary’s C of E School. Young pupils from all three schools had the opportunity to play together, showcasing sportsmanship, teamwork and a shared love for the game.

In the afternoon, senior students were put through their paces in elite training sessions led by the FC Devon coaching team, with Anton observing, offering guidance, and cheering them on throughout.

Anton spent over five hours on campus, signing more than 500 autographs, taking photos, and answering a steady stream of thoughtful questions from young players. His energy, openness, and passion for giving back were evident to all.

The visit was part of FC Rise’s mission to empower the player, build the person, and reflect Kingsley School’s broader commitment to holistic, values-driven education. Anton’s presence left a lasting impression on students, families, and staff alike.
