Kingsley May Fayre 2025 – A Fantastic Day of Fun and Community Spirit

On Bank Holiday Monday, the Kingsley Sports Field & Sports Hall were transformed into a hub of excitement and community spirit for the much-loved Kingsley May Fayre. Families, friends, and parents gathered to enjoy an afternoon filled with laughter, delicious food, and activities for all ages.

A Fun-Packed Afternoon

The atmosphere was buzzing from the moment the gates opened. Children flocked to not one, not two, but three bouncy castles! Meanwhile, the miniature steam train chugged happily around the field, bringing joy to big and little kids alike. Families gathered around picnic tables, enjoying the food stalls and taking a well-earned break between activities. There was even a chance for children to try out surf skateboards with the Surf Academy team—a huge hit with budding surfers!

Inside the Sports Hall, crowds gathered to watch impressive Judo and Gymnastics displays from our talented Kingsley students. Their strength and skill were on full display, with perfect throws, flips, and routines. It was a fantastic showcase of their hard work and dedication.

The activity stalls, run by the school and PTA, were busy throughout the afternoon. Children tried their luck at games, tested their skills, and collected prizes with beaming smiles. A firm favourite this year was the flower garland stall hosted by the Earth Centre—beautiful creations that were worn with pride throughout the afternoon.

Visitors also explored a range of external stalls, discovering everything from children’s books and jewellery to sweets and handcrafted items. The Scouts and Children’s Hospice South West also had fantastic displays, spreading awareness and engaging warmly with families. Poppy Harrop did a wonderful job representing the Children’s Hospice South West, raising funds and spreading awareness for their important work.

Special recognition goes to Amina Beckhurst and Roxy O’Neil (Year 4), who ran a brilliant “slime stall” in support of the Palestine Children’s Relief Fund. Their creativity and passion for helping others was inspiring to see.

Photography Competition Highlights

Over in the Sports Hall, the Photography Competition entries were proudly displayed. The creative work of our students was admired by all who passed through, and the winners were announced with much celebration. Congratulations to Lincoln Slatter (Year 12) for taking 1st place, Oakley Richards (Year 7) for securing 2nd place, and Zak Turton (Year 12) for finishing 3rd. We are so proud of their talent and creativity!

Prizes for Kingsley Friends were generously sponsored by local businesses, including The White Room, Walter Henry’s Bookshop, Uniquely Holt, Peter Howard Sweets, and Little Maine’s Bookshop. We are incredibly grateful for their support.

A Huge Thank You to Our Amazing Team and Volunteers

This year’s café was a true highlight, thanks to the wonderful collaboration between the PTA, the Hospitality Department, and our Head Chef. Visitors were treated to delicious food and drinks, with a fantastic selection of homemade cakes that flew off the tables. A massive thank you to all the home bakers who contributed—your amazing cakes were a huge hit!

An event like this would not be possible without the tireless efforts of our incredible PTA and the many volunteers who gave their time to make the day such a success. From setting up stalls to serving food, managing activities, and keeping everything running smoothly, your hard work and dedication made it happen.

We are so grateful to have such a strong and supportive community. The smiles and laughter shared by everyone who attended are a testament to your hard work. Thank you for everything you did to make the Kingsley May Fayre a day to remember!

We can’t wait to do it all again next year!
