All our staff deploy Quality First Teaching strategies to ensure that the classroom environment is a fully inclusive one, accommodating the diverse range of learning styles, difficulties and needs.
Quality First Teaching includes differentiated learning, strategies to support SEN students’ learning in class, and on-going formative assessment. A diagnosis is not always necessary as our teaching strategies already support the needs of most students.
Having small class sizes allows our students to build strong relationships with our teachers and ensures that staff have more time to spend with each student, helping them to fulfil their potential. You will always be aware of the purposeful calm in the classrooms and in the corridors between lessons, where students feel safe and nurtured, both academically and emotionally.
Students requiring enhanced support for mild to moderate needs may access this in the Stella Maris Centre, our designated SEND department. Students with moderate to severe needs, including ASD, may be allocated a place in either our Edgehill Centre (normally 6 to 11 years old students) or our Grenville Centre (11 to 16 years old students).
