Years 1-2

During Years 1 and 2, we develop your child’s independence and ability to remain focused.

Specialised Teaching

Your child will acquire knowledge and skills in both numeracy and literacy, as well as in a range of topic-based learning. We use a variety of different teaching strategies and differentiated activities which are highly engaging and are adapted to the needs of each individual child.

Outside the Classroom

Your child will access specialised subjects such as Judo, French, music, IT and the environmental topics in our new Earth Centre curriculum, taught by specialist staff. Your child will also access outside areas to develop ideas and social skills through play, and will use Kingsley’s extensive grounds for outdoor learning.

Easy Transition

Moving on into another Key Stage is a daunting experience and Kingsley supports all its students with ‘moving-on’ sessions. Our EYFS children spend days in Key Stage 1 and there are opportunities for the Key Stage 1 children to spend time in Lower Key Stage 2. The students have plenty of opportunities to get to know the staff from Reception through to Years 3 and 4.
