Award winning Kingsley Artists

Many of the pupils at Kingsley School submitted artwork to the Annual Schools Show at The Burton Art Gallery earlier this year. Last week our Head of Art, Mrs Lorayne Southam had the privilege of accompanying one of our students, and his parents, to collect an award.

Ollie, a student in Year 10, won a prize for his portrayal of Samuel L. Jackson. His exhibited work showed "a solid sense of character in a portrait and great use of the medium," according to the judges.

 Another senior Kingsley student, Jenna, was given a certificate for her large painted portrait. The judges commented that she had portrayed 'a clever depiction of listening, excellent use of subtle colour and mature use of paint.'
